Nintendo’s new update of their hugely successful handheld the DSi has already shipped 200,000 units in Japan since launching on November 1st.
With it’s integrated camera, web browser, SD memory card slot and improved audio capabilities, the DSi went on sale for the bargain price of just 18,900 yen/ $179: only a few yen more than its predecessor.
With sales of the standard DS beginning to slump, Nintendo are hoping that the DSi will renew interest in their innovative handheld with its new range of features.
Confirming that they’re preparing to ship another 100,000 units this week, Nintendo have high hopes for the DSi.
The DSi should see release in Europe and the US early summer 2009. |
